Presidents Authority
The President's Authority facilitates the posting of marriage banns by a resident/national on behalf of a foreigner who is to marry in Trinidad and Tobago.
Provide information to Registrar General's Department, Registration House and Jerningham Street, Scarborough, Tobago.
Process:
1. Put up Marriage Notice at Warden's Office nearest to which resident party lives. - TT$10.00
2. Seven days later obtain a copy from Warden's Office - attend Marriage Clerk, Registrar General's Department for guidelines.
3. Complete and sign Application Forms at Civil Registry. - TT$100.00
4. Return approximately 3 days later for approved application.
5. Take approval to Warden's Office and Marriage License will be issued. - TT$10.00
Documents Required:
1. Valid ID of resident party
2. Original Divorce absolute or Death Certificate of previous spouse and certified translation thereto, if applicable
3. Copy of Marriage Notice from Warden's Office and
4. Statutory Declaration from party residing abroad (precedent will be provided by Marriage Clerk) done by Notary Public
